Patients Association Report 2009

We thank the Patients Association for bringing to light in their Report, August 2009 Case No. 6, which briefly detailsThomas Milner's poor Palliative Care Experience!

The report called 'Patients not numbers, People not Statistics' can be seen at link below:

http://www.patients-association.org.uk/DBIMGS/file/Patients%20not%20numbers,%20people%20not%20statistics(1).pdf

Christine Beasley, the Chief Nursing Officer and other Government spokespeople said there would be a 'purge' of the cruel and uncaring staff - see here the Daily Mail online story:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1209334/Revealed-The-cruelty-suffered-1m-elderly-NHS-patients.html

The Patients Association contacted Andy Burnham M.P. Minister for Health when the Report was published 27/8/2009,  by 14/10/2009 they had NOT had a reply and NOTHING has altered, there has 'NOT been a Purge'!

(Case No. 5 of the Patient Association Report 2009, Mrs. Bella Bailey received poor care at Staffordshire General Hospital which forms part of the mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust Hospitals at Stafford and Cannock.         Mrs Bailey has had a website dedicated to her www.curethenhs.co.uk -         Her Daughter Ms. Julie Bailey is spearheading a campaign to Cure the current state of the NHS!)

We offer our sympathy to the hundreds of other patients and their families who have had similar experiences or who did not have the strength to go through the corrupt NHS complaints proceedure.

The Patients Association received a huge response to the publication of 'Patients not numbers, People not Statistics' Report as can be seen here:

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/health/article6813084.ece

54% of all complaints to the Healthcare Commission (NHS/Government Agency) were to do with Palliative Care and End of Life Care.

http://www.dignityindying.org.uk/end-of-life-care.html

The Healthcare Commission is now defunct and those 'statistics' have been buried.

The Complaints Proceedure as laid down by the NHS must be bogus!

We have piles of paperwork from the Sheffield NHS Teaching Hospital Trust and from the Palliative Care ward of the Sheffield Northern General Hospital.

We have piles of paperwork from other NHS departments which exemplifies NHS chaos and wasteage of NHS time and funds.

Paperwork where the NHS try to deflect from the fact that they made a 'catalogue of errors' in the end of life care of Thomas Milner and finally did not administer the correct pain control medication or terminal sedation to an elderly dying patient.

This Case is ongoing 12/10/09, as Sir Andrew Cash OBE, Chief Executive of the Sheffield Teaching Hospital Trust just cannot get his facts straight.

He has belatedly sent the family of Thomas Milner a letter which sets out the time of set up and refill of the morphine pain control syringe driver.  These are Wrong!

Can the Sheffield Teaching Hospital Trust not read what is written in Thomas Milner's medical notes? Do they not know that the family of Thomas Milner has the medical notes?

What is this the competancy of the NHS Teaching Hospital Trust in Sheffield?

Will we get an apology? Will they say there has been a misunderstanding? Or will they say that the Palliative Care Doctor and nurse will undergo further training?

God Help Us All and Shame on Them
